Varsity Record:  3 - 3 (Section:  2 - 2)

JV Record: 4 - 1 (Section: 3-0)

 Game 8 vs Baldwin - WIN (Baldwin 4 - PT 5)

PT Lady Indians struck first with a 2-run homerun by Alex Bondi in the first inning (scoring Hondru) to take the early lead 2-0. Haley Cecere kept things rolling in the 2nd by starting the inning with a triple and was brought home by Victoria Boehme's double RBI. Baldwin plated one in the 3rd inning to bring the score to 3-1, favoring PT. Going into the bottom of the 6th, PT trailed by one. Boehme's single scored Cecere to tie things up with 4 runs each going into the final inning. The PT Lady Indians defense held strong and kept the threatening Highlanders off the board to head into their final at bat with the tie scored. With Kate Hondru on base, Bondi's bat struck again with a double RBI that brought Hondru home for the game-winning run. An exciting finish to a great game by both teams! Hondru picked up the win from the circle.

PTHS Junior Varsity Softball wins - taking their official section record to 3-0, beating Baldwin JV by the score of Baldwin 5 - PT 9. O'Connell with the win from the circle.

Game 7 vs USC - Loss (PT 4 - USC 8)

Stranded base runners for PT (11 total) was a difference-maker in this game, with solid pitching and defense by USC Lady Panthers and their timely hitting.

Game 6 vs LEBO - Loss (Lebo 1 - PT 0)

This low scoring game featured great pitching and defense from both teams with one more timely hit from LEBO to cross one over the plate in the 3rd inning and that was the difference to win this game. Tough loss but great game! Game highlight was the double play in the 5th inning that helped PT get out of a bases loaded and no outs jam. Fast action from Bondi at first to Hutnik at home and back to Bondi to get the lead runner plus one and set up the Indians to get the final out without any runs scored.

Congratulations to PT Junior Varsity on their win over LEBO - taking their section record to 2-0. O'Connell in the circle for the win.

Game 5 vs Brashear - WIN (15-0)

PT picked up first section win of 2018 season with solid offense and defense to finish in 4 innings. The bats were alive across the line up, but YaYa Hutnik had the game's highlight with a Grandslam homerun in the 2nd to take the game to 8-0 in favor of the Lady Indians. Kate Hondru picked up the win from the circle.

PT Junior Varsity played their first game of the season and also picked up the win. Amanda O'Connell with the win from the circle.

Game 1 vs North Hills - LOSS

Varsity Record:  4 - 4 (Section:  2 - 4)

JV Record: 2 - 2 (Section: 1 -2)

Game 8: Peters Twp 0 - Canon Mac 14 - PT goes down to section leader, as does PT JV.

Game 7: Peters Twp 9 - McGuffey 3 - Peters scored first in the 1st on RBI single (Hondru scoring Cecere) and added to their lead with a solo homerun shot in the 2nd (Yeates).  McGuffey answered those and plated an extra to take a one run lead at the end of 3.  PT tied things up in the 5th (Yeates RBI scores Paugh).  In the 6th, PT scored 6 unanswered runs with offensive contributions from a variety of Lady Indians with hits, walks and pinch running (Hutnik, Fitzgerald, Bondi, Paugh, Cecere, Zierden, Yeates, Hondru and Boehme).  The game showcased solid defense from the Indians with some diving catches in outfield, a double play to end the game, and strong pitching from Hartbauer to register her 4th win from the circle this season.

Game 6: Peters Twp 1 - Baldwin 2 - Very tough loss on the road to the Highlanders, with a score reminiscent of last game against Baldwin in the 2016 WPIAL quarterfinals when PT lost to Baldwin by one run.  This game was scoreless until the 5th inning, when Baldwin scored two.  PT had hits scattered throughout the game but was not able to plate a run until the bottom of the 7th, when Hartbauer (Pitcher) helped her own cause when she cleared a huge hit over the center field fence for a solo shot to put Peters on the board.  Unfortunately, the bottom 7th inning rally was not enough and Peters came up short in a game that featured great pitching from both teams.

Game 5: Peters Twp 4 - USC 3 - PT earned its second section win in a tight game with USC that featured hits throughout the PT lineup and strong defense.  PT struck first in bottom of the 1st on an RBI single (Hondru's single scores Cecere).  USC evened things up after 2 innings and picked up one more in the 3rd.  PT struck again in the 3rd after singles (Cecere, Yeates, Hondru) load the bases and a big hit to outfield (Boehme) plates one to tie things up.  Lady Indians moved ahead in the 4th after singles (Bondi & Paugh), a fielder's choice (Castellone) and another single (Hutnik) load the bases.  Castellone scored on a passed ball, ending the 4th with a one run lead (PT 3 - USC 2).  The score held until the top of the 7th, when after two strikeouts by Hartbauer, USC battled back and scored one to take the game to the bottom of the 7th.  Singles (Cecere & Yeates) put the winning run on base with one out.  A passed ball advanced the runners to 2B & 3B and the game ended with the win for Peters on a walk off single (Hondru).  Hartbauer with her third win on the season - with her battery partner, Hutnik, providing a solid performance behind the plate.

Game 4: Peters Twp 21 - Brashear 1 - PT earns first section win (5 innings) of the 2017 season.   Solid defense kept Brashear to a single run, while the PT bats broke things open in the fifth and final inning, notching hits from 13 different players, many of them with multiple hits.  Hartbauer with her second win from the circle.

PT JV earns a decisive win in three innings of play that included hits from the entire lineup, many with multiple hits, combined with strong defense and pitching.  Chapman with her second win from the circle.

Game 3: Peters Twp 2 - Mt Lebo 3 - PT suffers a tough loss in home opener against section rival in an extra innings (8 innings) game that went scoreless through the first three frames.   PT got on the board in the 4th after a double (Hondru) followed by another double (Cecere) that scored 1.  PT kept the lead until the 7th when Lebo plated one to tie things up and eventually take the game to extra innings.  Lebo scored 2 runs in the 8th.  PT came up just short in the 8th after cutting the 2 run deficit in half when a hit to right outfield (Hondru) brought in a runner from 1st base (Hutnik hit by pitch - Fitzgerald pinch runner) and brought the tying run to 3rd base.

Game 2: Peters Twp 0 - Bethel Park 4 - PT goes down to Bethel Park in section opener.  Although the Lady Indians recorded a number of hits throughout the game, solid BP defense kept PT from scoring.

PT JV loses in 7 innings of play.  Game highlight - a 3-strike out inning for Chapman in the 3rd.

Game 1:  Peters Twp 10 - Blackhawk 8 - Lady Indians win with an explosive offense in the final frame, scoring 6 runs to come from behind and take the lead 10-8.  The inning started with a walk (Yeates) and bunt (Castellone) that set up two runs off a double (Hondru), followed by a single (Boehme) that produced the third run of the inning.  Next two hitters singled (Bondi & Hutnik) setting up a 3-run homerun (Hartbauer - Thomas & Fitzgerald pinch runners).  Indians defense held strong for Blackhawk's final at-bat, ending the game 10-8.  Hartbauer gets the win from the circle.

PT JV wins with the score of 8-4, with Chapman in the circle for the Lady Indians.
